Janjang means stairs in English. Janjang 40 is very popular red brick color stairs in this city. It is believed to have 40 steps but in reality the total is about 100 steps, connecting Pasar Banto (Banto Market) and Pasar Ateh (Ateh Market). If you are unfit or just having poor stamina then do not try to climb it especially in a hot summer :-)
